About Us

Established in 1990 and headquartered in Columbus, OH,
USA, Weavers of Nigeria is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit
organization that is committed to the improvement of our
communities in Nigeria and in the United States, focusing
on women and children’s issues. We raise funds to
support charitable organizations that share our focus.
Weavers of Nigeria also supports the Central Ohio
Nigerian community through social and cultural events
such as the Nigerian independence celebration and the
annual family cookout.

Mission Statement

The purpose of the Weavers of Nigeria is to plan and
execute charitable projects, and to foster a conducive
environment for achieving lasting peace, unity, and
progress through positive cooperation among Nigerian
women, and between Nigerians and people from all
nations.

Who are we?

WON strives to improve our communities in Nigeria and
the United States by focusing on children and women’s
issues and by promoting cooperation and understanding in
the world. We plan fundraising events to support women
and children causes and plan collaborative events to bring
Nigerians living in Central Ohio together. In addition, we
promote the rich culture and history of Nigeria and the
diverse contributions of Nigerians.
